[Update] Resolved: Server core.glicx.net Xen Kernel Panic and Full System Update

Dear all,

Xen kernel panic on core.glicx.net has been resolved, and now running back to normal. We appreciate your patience during the downtime.

As a precaution, please:

1. Manual RESTART your virtual machine (VPS/VDS) through user control panel or your local SSH console (Putty, etc).

2. Please BACKUP your current virtual machine. A simple TAR backup method is available at our Tutorial page (http://www.glicx.net/tutorials). Please be reminded that we do not backup clients' data.

The kernel panic occurred due to insufficient disk space for log files. We will remove old log files, including user access logs and bandwidth usage logs for previous 2 month and older.

All sensors show that server parts (CPU voltage, fans, temperature, memory, HDDs, etc) are healthy.

We plan to run a FULL SYSTEM UPDATE for core.glicx.net on October 3rd, 2009 MYT starting from 3:00AM in the early morning. We expect to reboot the server for a few times during the update. It is the safest to keep backup copy of your virtual machine for any unexpected event during the update.

We are very sorry for the downtime. Thank you so much for your patience.
